This symposium at the 85th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management explores how psychological factors and personal experiences inside and outside of work influence network evolution, structure, and mobilization. Through diverse analytical and methodological approaches (e.g., stochastic actor-oriented models, experiments, qualitative analyses, and natural language processing) the presentations investigate how multicultural experiences, emotional exhaustion, negative affective events at work, and work-family conflict affect how individuals develop and utilize their professional networks. Stefano Tasselli will discuss the implications of these works on the state of network agency and intraorganizational network research. Organizational Behavior (OB), Managerial and Organizational Cognition sponsor (MOC), and Organization Management Theory (OMT), sponsor this symposium.
